(Q): What prescription drug plans does DaVita Rx accept?

(A): DaVita Rx accepts most prescription drug plans.

(Q): Do I need a prescription?

(A): Yes.

(Q): Can I get all of my prescriptions filled through DaVita Rx?

(A): DaVita Rx can fill prescriptions from any physician. We carry all prescription medications, with the exception of some controlled substances. (Q): I’d like to use DaVita Rx for all of my existing prescriptions. Does my doctor have to write new prescriptions?

(A): Not in most cases. We work directly with your physicians for existing prescriptions. Of course, your doctor will have to fax or call us to let us know of any new or changed prescriptions.

Costs


(Q):How much does it cost to use DaVita Rx?

(A): It costs nothing extra to use DaVita Rx. Our refill reminder, pre-authorization help and other services are provided at no additional cost. You simply pay any co-pays as part of your insurance plan, just like at a local retail pharmacy.

(Q): What is DaVita Rx’s generics policy?

(A): DaVita Rx will substitute generic drugs whenever possible, unless otherwise requested by you or your physician. Generics are defined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as drugs that are identical or bioequivalent to a brand name drug in dosage, form, safety, strength, performance, and intended use. We do this to help you save money.

Timelines and Convenience


(Q): What if DaVita Rx does not have all my medications in stock?

(A): Because we specialize in serving kidney patients DaVita Rx will typically have all needed medications in stock. In the rare and unlikely event that we do not have your medication in our inventory we have ways to expedite delivery.

(Q): What if I need to receive a medication right away — before my next scheduled treatment?

Any medication you need on the same day (such as an antibiotic) should be filled through a local retail pharmacy to ensure you receive it as soon as possible.
